WHAT EMERGE125 CAN OFFER:
EMERGE125 has established itself as a leader by setting new standards for dancer care; creating innovative, cross-disciplinary collaborations with leading artists; and using movement as a catalyst for community building: expanding the reach, purpose, and impact of the art of dance.
EMERGE125 prides itself on community building. We provide Educational and Performance Offerings that align with our values, which are essential to how we move through the world as artists, educators, and humans. Our mission is to use dance to develop character, instill confidence, and prove that a career in the arts is possible!
CLASSES
MASTER CLASSES
During EMERGE125 master classes, students will work with company members on various techniques such as ballet, modern, jazz, and Afro-Caribbean.
MOVEMENT CLASSES
During EMERGE125 movement classes, students of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to participate. Classes are designed to explore different themes such as mobility, strength, musicality, and artistic expression to allow students to gain self-confidence and belief in their own creative choices.
WORKSHOPS
LECTURE DEMONSTRATIONS
During EMERGE125 lecture demonstrations, our Artistic Director or lead Teaching Artist introduces the company and provides background information about what the students will experience. The company then presents a 15-20 minute excerpt of EMERGE125 repertory. After the repertory is performed, the Artistic Director or lead Teaching Artist, company dancers, and school coordinator in attendance lead a 30-40 minute Q&A session.
REPERTORY WORKSHOPS
During an EMERGE125 repertory workshop, students will take 2 or 3 days of classes. Students will immerse themselves in phrases to learn and explore a variety of EMERGE125’s repertory.
RESIDENCIES
CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS
During an EMERGE125 choreography workshop, company members will provide the necessary tools for students to create/produce their own choreographic work. Students will also learn different elements of fully presenting their work such as how to choose music, costumes, and lighting.
PERFORMANCE RESIDENCIES
1-Day, 3-Day, and Independent Performance Series available. E125 Company Members will perform during an independent event; engage with students so that they’re able to comprehend, appreciate, and celebrate dance and the arts in general.
