Alisa Gregory

Alisa M. Gregory (Company Dancer) is a Founding Dance Company Member of EMERGE125 and is in her fourth season with the company. Alisa is originally from Richmond, Virginia and began her dance training at Jessica Morgan School of Dance and Thomas Dale High School Specialty Center for Performing Arts. She went on to graduate from George Mason University’s School of Dance with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. During her time at George Mason she performed works by renowned choreographers such as Nacho Duato and Lar Lubovitch, and had the privilege of performing alongside the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company for their 50th Anniversary performance at The Joyce Theater. Upon graduating in 2019, Alisa danced professionally with Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre during their 2019-2020 season. She then joined Elisa Monte Dance under the artistic direction of Tiffany Rea-Fisher, and is proud to carry on Rea-Fisher’s vision as a fourth year Company Dancer with EMERGE125. 

Throughout her time with E125, Alisa has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, City Center, National Sawdust, Little Island for their National Dance Day Festival, Chelsea Factory for The Joyce Theater’s Choreographer & Cocktails Event, Bryant Park Picnic Performances (alongside the Paul Taylor Dance Company), and The Flea Theater for EMERGE125’s NYC Season. Additional performances include the International Association of Blacks in Dance Annual Conference in Toronto, Canada (2023) and the Hudson Valley Dance Festival’s 10th Anniversary hosted by Dancers Responding to Aids. She has also been featured in the E125 dance films, Rights of Renaissance (2021) and Geography of Grace (2023), and provided creative direction for the documentary film, Making of A Moment (not yet released).

Further highlights include performing as ensemble dancer in Classical Theater Harlem’s summer productions of Seize The King (2021) and Twelfth Night (2022), choreographed by Tiffany Rea-Fisher and directed by Carl Cofield. Most recently, Alisa worked as Rea-Fisher’s Associate Choreographer in The Public Theater's Musical Adaptation of The Tempest as part of the organization's Public Works program at the Delacorte Theater. She assisted Tiffany with setting movement on a cast of 85 performers while collaborating with Obie Award-winning Director of Public Works Laurie Woolery. 

Alisa has served as EMERGE125’s Events Coordinator since 2021. With seven years of event planning experience, she uses her natural leadership and keen organizational skills to plan both fundraising and community events for the company. Alisa also serves as Board Chair for the EMERGE125’s Young Executives Board. Previously she worked as the company's social media manager and as director of the EMERGE125 online dance platform, Kinetic Kinship Digital Dance Classes.

In addition to her career in dance performance and arts administration, Alisa is dedicated to giving back to the next generation of performers through dance education. She has spent the last two years teaching dance through E125’s educational outreach partnership with Stars of Tomorrow and Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts. Alisa was an inaugural dance instructor for the Misty Copeland Foundation’s BE BOLD program working with Boys and Girls Club students. Additional teaching credits include Metropolitan Ballet Academy, Landrum School for Performing Arts, The Studio, Momentum Dance Studio, and Prestige Dance Studio.
