At the 37th Annual International Conference and Festival of Blacks in Dance, hosted by the International Association of Blacks in Dance, EMERGE125 performs an excerpt of Kinetic Dissent, in the Established Artists Performance.
KINETIC DISSENT
Protest lives in the body before it becomes a slogan.
Beginning as breath, tension, and the instinct to move when stillness is no longer bearable, Kinetic Dissent traces gestures of resistance across time, cultures, and geographies. Arms raised. Feet grounded. Voices carried through flesh.
The work reveals protest not simply as a moment, but as a human reflex—as natural and necessary as breathing.
