The Juneteenth March was founded as a march to New York City Hall in 2020 to highlight multiple injustices and reforms at the center of the city's power. The march was initially started by NYC by a series of events from activists James Felton Keith, Tiffany Rea-Fisher, Brandon Murphy, Gabriel Garmon, Harold Waight and many other neighbors in Harlem from June 4th - June 19th. They came together with a larger group of activists weeks earlier and after the murder of George Floyd. It was a beautiful non-violent march from Harlem down 5th Ave to the Upper East Side of Manhattan that grew to thousands of New Yorkers as it moved south, ending just blocks from where the 5K will start in Central Park.
Tiffany and the team decided to evolve the original march into an event celebrating the health and wellness of Black people. So came the event we have today, a 5K Run, Walk (March), Roll in the park!
Get your bibs and volunteer at: www.juneteenthmarch.org.
All proceeds from the Juneteenth March go towards the building fund of the Harlem Center. The center is a 10-year effort started by a coalition of +30 New York centered, community based organizations (CBOs). Harlem Center will increase the capacity to address unmet needs and gaps in service delivery.
Enjoy EMERGE125’s performance of I Want You at the 2026 Jamaica Dance Festival! Held annually in Rufus King Park, this dance festival is free and open to the public. The timing of this performance is to be annouced.
A deeply personal solo I Want You first captivated audiences as a work-in-progress in our 2024 season. This piece is an homage to vulnerability, strength, and the power of loving something—even if it does not love you back. It is about standing in that truth, harnessing it, and transforming it into a source of power and self-determination.

EMERGE125's educational initiatives aim to educate and empower all students to reach their unique potential as artists and productive members of society. Arts education opens the door for exploration and new opportunities. By offering diverse dance education programs, we can provide a unique and creative way to better serve our communities. This season, E125 continues our partnership with The Stars of Tomorrow Project. As we continue to give back to the community, the goal of our education programs is to establish a steady network of dance students to consistently increase participation in E125 Education programs, Company Seasons, and other events. E125 could not be prouder of our company teaching artists for their commitment to dance education, our students, and the communities that we serve. We’re excited to see our progress and success as we reimagine existing programs and roll out a new agenda.
The Stars of Tomorrow Project, Inc. is a FREE youth development organization, that gives the youth of New York City the opportunity to discover the world, and the tools to navigate it. Using the art of acting to help students develop while mentoring and nurturing them in safe spaces. We provide young people with places to express themselves while developing into productive world citizens and tomorrow’s leaders.
The Stars of Tomorrow Project is a year around program, with a fall, spring, and summer semesters. Young people ages 14-25 have access to free programming in acting, voice, dance, and movement. EMERGE125 is currently in residency with Trinity School teaching dance classes to the 3rd Grade students. The residency will culminate in a showcase on March 14th.
Past events at Trinity School included a Harlem Renaissance education outreach event coordinated by E125’s Director of Education, Kat Files. E125 recognizes that in our multicultural state, especially the diverse atmosphere of NYC and its 5 boroughs, arts education serves as a bridge across cultural and language differences and builds connections within and between communities. Executive Artistic Director, Tiffany Rea-Fisher, alongside Company Dancers presented choreography from “Rights of Renaissance,” a work created by Tiffany Rea-Fisher and E125 that pays homage to the Harlem Renaissance. There were 64 students in attendance. Dance education helps students broaden their perspectives and understand their world and the diverse cultural influences that surround them. We hope to continue building a partnership with Trinity School!
